Family therapy is critical to the success of each patient’s recovery. We understand that family members need support too.
At Lake Bridge Behavioral Health System, we understand how parents might feel confusion, fear, frustration, and helplessness when a child or teen suffers a psychiatric crisis. According to the World Health Organization, around 20% of the world’s children and adolescents are estimated to have a mental health disorder with half of all mental disorders surfacing before age 14. There are effective treatments available for mental illness, which is a medical disorder. It is critical that families support their children and teenagers in treatment and brush off the outdated stigma concerning a mental health diagnosis. The clinical team at Lake Bridge Hospital wants to provide family support for mental illness- affected households in managing mental illness during treatment. We stand behind the importance of follow-up appointments with community mental health professionals to continue medication management and evidence-based therapy for the future success of our client.
Lake Bridge Behavioral Hospital serves children and adolescents all over the state of Georgia with inpatient psychiatric care for children and teens as well as a variety of programs. If a family wishes to spend the night in Macon during their loved-one’s treatment, we have a special rate agreement with a local hotel for Lake Bridge families. With space permitting, parents may stay at the Ronald McDonald House with a referral from Lake Bridge Hospital. For assistance in securing overnight accommodations, please call 478-297-1137.
